What "Vein Color" Refers To

The vein color describes the color of the central vein and stem running through the kratom leaf. How the Colors Are Created

Two main factors create the final color designation: leaf maturity at harvest and the post-harvest drying process.

Leaf maturity. The stage at which a leaf is picked influences its veining and its alkaloid balance. This is decided at harvest.

Drying method. How and where the leaf is dried, for example shade-drying in ventilated rooms versus more sun or light exposure, further shapes the final color and helps stabilize the material.
